Living Stereo

Back in the day, it was quite a feat to have two channels of music, what those fancy fellas called “stereo”, to come out of a single record. Sure you had to have one of our living stereo othrophonic hi-fi’s, but there was no other way to experience the immersion any other way short of a live concert.

This film introduces RCA’s first home stereos, and their sales pitch, at a time when hi-fi’s were often built by electronics enthusiasts, and cost thousands of dollars. Just look at that rich wood cabinetry!

Pork People

Especially interesting is the post-mortems done on pig carcasses, describing their health and upkeep merely by measuring how much fat is on the pig’s back.

Casper The Ghost: Good Boos Tonight

Poor Casper, all the other ghosts from the creepy cemetery want to scare the wits out of the living, and he just wants an animal friend to play with. Casper tries to make friends with all sorts of farmyard animals, but when they realize there’s an otherworldly undead spirit in their midst, they freak out. Luckily for Casper, a sympathetic fox hears his ghostly wails, and decides to befriend the deceased. Everybody has a good time until the fox hounds and hunters show up. Will the fox find cover? Will Casper lose his only friend? Will the hunter become the hunted?
