A Christmas Dream

Even though the parents left the house with open candles and sparklers attached to their explosively-flammable tree, everything, including a bounty of gifts awaits Mom & Dad’s special girl. Seeing her new presents, she tosses aside her long time ‘bestest pal ever’, for the joy of new friends. The old toy knows it’s the trash, or worse for them, so they suddenly shows off all the dance moves they had been hiding for so long. Will prickly little Miss Princess take back her old-time rag doll before it’s too late?

The Christmas Visit

December 18th, 2007 |

In this 1959 film, a Russian boy tries to take his ‘holiday’ tree to his father, who’s serving in Antarctica, since there are no trees there. ‘Santa’ loans the boy his magic jet to get there, and other speaking creatures help him on his way later. During this time period, Russia was central to the Soviet Union, which was essentially an atheist state, no doubt our English translation took a few friendly liberties with the holiday storyline. Make sure to watch for the cool Cyrillic lettering in the film.
